Camilla Akrans shot this awesome editorial for Vogue Nippon's March issue. The styling is amazing (credit to Sissy Vian) and Anja Rubik has me convinced... there's nothing wrong with going short :)

Wear your cake & eat it too

A woman named Lukka Sigurdardottir made a wedding dress out of cake. Talk about tackling two birds with one stone.

Hallelujah

My previous post was about Jessica Biel, so it's fitting this one be about Justin Timberlake. I watched the incredible "HOPE FOR HAITI NOW" special organized by George Clooney on Friday night. It's sad that it often takes tragedies like 9/11, Hurricane Katrina, and the earthquake in Haiti to bring people together, but at the same time uplifting to see so many celebrities and others offering their help. The highlight of the show for me was the Justin Timberlake and Matt Morris performance of Hallelujah. It was touching and inspiring. If you missed the show, catch the video below...

Jessica

Vogue's February 2010 issue features Jessica Biel in the Ralph Lauren Spring 2010 Collection on the cover and in a three-page spread. I think this is a refreshing and classic look for Jessica, really highlighting her natural beauty, and a great cover for Vogue.

Rent The Runway

Dying to sport the new Hervé Léger to your birthday party? Tired of spending $400+ on gowns for the endless wedding circuit, but having trouble un-gluing yourself from the Catherine Malandrino in the dressing room? Problem solved. Rent The Runway is the affordable new way to look great without draining your savings account. Dress rentals from your favorite designers range from $50-$200, dry cleaning included, and are shipped right to your doorstep within a day or two. After you wear it, slip it into the prepaid envelope and send it back.

You can stop promising yourself that you'll eat out less or pack your lunches so you can splurge on the dress you've been eyeing (takes one to know one). And while you're stalking your fashion saavy friends, and friends of friends, on facebook, you'll finally stop wondering how she can afford that DVF on a pr salary. I think even I can put aside my "it's an investment" motto and get into this new trend. Rumor has it they are launching accessories and shoes soon too! Sign up at Renttherunway.com and say so long to the days of special occasions styled by Forever 21 and H&M.

After making a donation I received this email...
"Partners In Health staff in Boston and Haiti are working to collect as much information as possible about the conditions on the ground, the relief efforts taking shape, and all relevant logistics issues in order to respond efficiently and effectively to the most urgent needs in the field. At the moment, PIH’s Chief Medical Officer is on her way to Haiti, where she will meet with Zanmi Lasante leadership and head physicians, who are already working to ensure PIH’s coordinated relief efforts leveraging the skills of more than 120 doctors and nearly 500 nurses and nursing assistants who work at Zanmi Lasante’s sites."

Fairytale Wedding

I fell in love with the photos of actress Jeri Ryan's wedding recently as I came across them on the photographer's website. Elizabeth Messina is an extraordinary photographer for weddings, engagements, and special moments in life. Her photography is beautiful and well received amongst the stars, including Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott. This set of photos from Ryan's wedding caught my eye and struck me as the "fairytale" wedding. Set against the vineyards and rolling hills of the Loire Valley in France, their wedding was picture perfect. I hope you enjoy the photos and admire Messina's work as much as I do.

Happy New Year!

It's the start of a new year and a new decade. The last 10 years were filled with many great memories and milestones for which I am very thankful. To name a few... getting my license, graduating high school, graduating college, spending a semester in Europe, working 4.5 years for Ralph Lauren, traveling the world in all directions including Israel and Hawaii, living 4 years in NYC, meeting Doug, and all the while sharing these experiences with my best friends and family. 16 to 26 was a good run and I expect even better things to come in the next decade. Can you picture your life 10 years from now?

Wishing everyone a happy and healthy new year!
